We met with this customer in Harvey, LA, to inspect a sinking slab. We started with a comprehensive evaluation to determine the cause of the sinking, such as poor soil conditions, water infiltration, or foundation damage. We determined in order to stabilize the foundation we would need to install push piers or helical piers, which involves driving these piers deep into the ground until they reach stable soil or bedrock. The slab would then be lifted back to its original level using hydraulic jacks or by hand digging and tunneling. Additionally, we would have implemented drainage solutions, such as French drains or proper grading, to prevent water from accumulating around the foundation. This approach would have ensured the slab's stability and prevented future settling.
